Terms of Service for CoupleLens
Effective Date: April 27, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the CoupleLens mobile application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
CoupleLens is owned and operated by Gustav Alver, an individual developer based in Finland ("we", "our", or "us").
Age Requirements
CoupleLens is intended for users aged 16 and older. By using the App, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old. If you are under 16, please do not use this App.
2. Account Registration
Apple Sign In
You may choose to sign in using your Apple ID. When you do so:
- We receive a unique anonymous identifier from Apple
- Your name may be shared if you choose to provide it
- Your email may be relayed through Apple's private email service
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple account
Guest Mode
You may use the App without creating an account. In guest mode:
- Functionality may be limited
- Your data is stored locally on your device
- Data may be lost if you uninstall the App or clear its data
Account Security
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
3. App License
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on your mobile device for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You may not:
- Modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or networks
- Remove any copyright or other proprietary notices from the App
- Use the App to generate content that infringes on third-party rights
4. User Content
Uploaded Photos
When you upload photos to the App:
- You retain ownership of your original photos
- You grant us a temporary license to process the photos solely for the purpose of generating AI portraits
- Original photos are deleted immediately after processing is complete
- You confirm that you have the right to upload the photos and that they do not violate any third-party rights
Generated Images
AI-generated images are provided for your personal use only. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of generated images complies with applicable laws and does not infringe on any third-party rights.
We do not claim ownership of generated images. However, we may store them to provide the Gallery feature for your account. AI-generated images may not qualify for copyright protection under applicable law. You should not rely on generated images having exclusive intellectual property rights. You are responsible for determining the legal status of generated images in your jurisdiction.
Content Standards
You agree not to upload or generate content that:
- Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, or defamatory
- Infringes on any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other proprietary rights
- Depicts minors in an inappropriate manner
- Contains viruses or any other malicious code
- Impersonates any person or entity, or falsely states or misrepresents an affiliation with a person or entity
5. In-App Purchases
CoupleLens offers in-app purchases for credits used to generate AI portraits.
Credit Terms
Credits have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or Apple's App Store policy. Credits are not transferable and may be forfeited if your account is terminated.
Pricing
All pricing is displayed in the App. We will notify you of any price changes via an in-app prompt before they take effect.
Payment Processing
Payments are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not receive or store your full payment card information.
Refunds
All payments are processed exclusively through Apple's App Store via StoreKit. Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with the App Store's refund policy. We do not have access to your payment information and cannot process refunds directly. To request a refund, please contact Apple Support.
Credit Expiration
Credits do not expire and will remain associated with your account until used or until your account is deleted.
6. AI Generation Disclaimer
The App uses artificial intelligence to generate images based on your inputs. You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI-generated images may contain inaccuracies, artifacts, or unexpected results
- We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or suitability of any generated image
- Each generation consumes credits, regardless of the quality of the output
- You are solely responsible for reviewing and using generated images appropriately
- AI outputs may vary even with identical inputs
7. Prohibited Activities
In addition to other restrictions in these Terms, you agree not to:
- Use the App to generate deepfakes or misleading content
- Use the App to generate content that violates the rights of any person depicted in your uploaded photos
- Share, distribute, or commercially exploit generated images without obtaining all necessary rights and permissions
- Use the App for bulk generation or automated processing
- Attempt to access areas of the App that you are not authorized to access
8. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
You may terminate your account at any time using the "Delete My Account" feature in the App Settings. Upon account deletion, all your data (including credits, generated images, and account information) will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
9. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will function uninterrupted, secure, or available at any particular time or location
- Errors or defects will be corrected
- The App is free of viruses or other harmful components
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE, OUR AFFILIATES, OR OUR RESPECTIVE DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM (I) YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE APP; (II) ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE APP; OR (III) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT.
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US FOR THE APP DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTH PERIOD PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED EUROS (€100).
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. ACCORDINGLY, SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
11. Consumer Rights
For users residing in the European Union, nothing in these Terms affects any mandatory statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, liabilities, or damages arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the App, or your infringement of any third-party rights through content you upload or generate.
If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, this indemnification clause applies only to the extent that your indemnification obligations are not limited by mandatory consumer protection laws applicable in your country of residence.
13. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via an in-app prompt before the updated Terms take effect. Your continued use of the App after acknowledging the changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Finland. For consumers residing in the European Union, you may also benefit from mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.
For consumers, we will attempt to resolve any disputes informally first. If we cannot reach a resolution, you may submit your complaint to the European Union Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr. For non-consumers, any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Finland.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be changed and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
